Soothing Sammy

While we are at home are you looking for something educational for your 2-6 year olds? Well I have something that you can do with your children and it's educational. Let me introduce you to Soothing Sammy. This teaches children how to calm down, communicate their feel and problem solve in a way that is easy for them to understand and simple for you to implement. This can work at home and at preschool. 

This program has four engaging 4 piece  and Soothing Sammy Program. Here is a little insight of what this program includes.

The first item that is in this program is their Children's Book. This book is full of colorful photos and a simple story that your toddlers will understand.  This story is about children that are upset and they visit Sammy. Sammy is a golden retriever and he lives in his dog house. In this book Sammy shows his friends, how they calm down with items that he has in house. They give ideas like taking a drink of water, using a washcloth to dampen their face or eating a crunchy snack and listening to a calming song. Once the child is calm, Sammy helps identify their feelings. He find out why they are upset and they come up with a plan to fix it.

The second part of this program you will find is their Soothing Sammy Plush Dog which is a golden retriever.  On the back of the book you will find directions how to make Sammy's house. You can find a box that your not using or something similar that you can make Sammy House. After building the house you put Sammy in new home and the items that they talk about in the book. When your child is starting to become upset you will redirect your child to Sammy house. 

The third step is Emotions and Feelings Activity and this is a E-Book. When your younger children struggle with feels and emotions. They don't know what they are or they can't explain them. These activities will provide opportunities for academic development while learning how to identify feeling in themselves or others. 

The last step in Soothing Sammy is the curriculum guide. You will get a PDF guide, emailed to you immediately upon purchase. This contains a simple step by step ways for you to introduce Sammy to your classroom. This has small group lesson plans for the children in your class learn about their feelings and emotions. 

I enjoyed learning about this program about children 2-6 learning about their feelings and emotions. Even when I worked for Head Start and even as Behavioral Tech teaching children about their emotions and feelings are very important. I like Soothing Sammy because it a guide how to help children and home or in preschool about their feeling and emotions. I would recommend checking their website out for more information.
