Sneak Peak " The Pirate Fairy"

  

Walt Disney Studios and Christian Siriano have teamed up to bring to life the newest addition to the world of Tinker Bell and Neverland in “The Pirate Fairy.”  Known for his whimsical and show-stopping designs, Siriano consulted with the filmmakers at Disneytoon Studios on Zarina’s pirate fairy costume.  Zarina, voiced by Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") is a dust-keeper fairy that falls in with a band of pirates, including a cabin boy named James, voiced by Tom Hiddleston ("The Avengers").   “The Pirate Fairy” sets sail on April 1, 2014.

I loved the challenge of this project. I haven't designed for an animated character before, and I'm excited to take my skills into Zarina's world. She's a unique and new character and I wanted to help make her memorable and iconic. Disney characters are everlasting and I'm sohappy as a young designer to help create a bit of Disney history.

Zarina is a powerful character, able to run a Pirate Ship and we wanted her to be a strong, adventurous fairy. Christian is phenomenal at creating bold, amazing silhouettes that truly celebrate a woman for who she is – powerful, feminine and fierce. He was the perfect choice.

Cocoa Canard Spooning Chocolate Review

It has been a cold winter this year. I know here in Michigan it been reaching below zero. What is the perfect way to warm up at night? Having a nice glass of hot cocoa. Recently I was introduced to Cocoa Canard that offers gourmet hot chocolate.

Here is a little background about Cocoa Canard: Throughout history the first way chocolate was ever consumed was a beverage. The cacao trees were indigenous to the Amazon rain forest and first cultivated by the Olmecs as early as 1000 BC. Sometime later the Mayans who later domesticated cacao and roasted by pounding the beans to form a bitter paste. The bitter paste was to be added to water and this would create the first chocolate beverage. 

Cocoa Canard goal to introduce customers to a tradition that is several thousands years old to create a simple ritual ceremony that can be enjoyed by families of all ages. 

I was excited when I was able to review Cocoa Canard Spooning Chocolate with my family. It came in handy over the past few days when it has been extremely cold here. Cocoa Canard sent me a nice Cocoa Canard mug, spoon and 11.6 Spooning.

My children and I were excited to warm up some hot chocolate the other night. It was very simple to create a perfect cup. You want to start off by pre-warming a mug by filling the mug with boiling water. Let the the water stand for one minute before dumping the boiling water out. After that put 24-27 disks in the mug. Than proceed to put 1/4 boiling water back into the mug. After putting the boiling water in you want to take the wooden tool and whisk it together until the chocolate and water blend together. If you prefer to use milk you can substitute it instead.

My overall opinion of Cocoa Canard Spooning Chocolate is positive. I am a huge fan of hot chocolate and Cocoa Canard brings a whole new meaning to hot chocolate. My children enjoyed it also, but I appreciated it a lot more. Usually we have the instant in the house and this compares nothing to it. From now on I am going to be spoiled and want nothing but Cocoa Canard. It smooth and delicious and you will keep wanting more. This is a perfect treat for the winter time and the cold nights that ware going to have ahead. This would also make a great gift.

Octonauts DVD Review and Giveaway

My 6 year old has a few favorite shows that he is really into. One of this favorite shows is Octonauts on Disney Junior. My son was very excited when he was able to review the new Octonauts DVD Here Come Octonauts.

As a parent I am always nervous about what shows my children are watching. With Octonauts I do have not have to worry. Octonauts is a fun educational show. The characters on Octonauts are fun and enjoyable. My children absolutely love the characters on Octonauts. When my son watched this fun adventure he had to watch this DVD several times. He enjoyed it and kept his attention through the whole movie. I would definitely recommend this DVD if you have young children.

This book arrived on Christmas Eve just in time to take it with us for Christmas Eve Dinner. At times I know my daughter needs something to bring with her to keep her occupied. Perfect timing. This book kept her entertained until her food came. This was a fun book to look at and explore with. There are more than 45 flaps to lift  and a learning activity on each spread. This books is not just entertaining it is also educational. For every parent that is a plus! I was impressed in the quality and the durable of this book. My daughter loved flipping the pages and seeing Buddy, Tiny, Shiny and Don. The adventures are fun and my daughter could follow the book and have fun. I think she had the most fun peeking behind the flaps in the book. This book SRP is 9.99 and is recommended for ages 2 and up.

Henry Hugglemonster DVD Review

Guess who is coming to DVD on 1/14. Henry Hugglemonster is coming to DVD. When I first heard about this series in June my children could not wait to watch Henry. When we first started watching this series on Disney we fell in love with Henry and his friend right away. When we found out Henry was coming to DVD my children were very excited. 

Here is a little about Henry Hugglemonster series. Welcome to the newest, happiest, monster-rific spot on the map - the wondrous land of Roarsville - where five-year old Henry Hugglemonster lives, plays and learns something "roarsome" every day. Together with his loving parents and grandparents, big brother Cobby, sister Summer, baby bro IVor, and a town full of cuddly monsters. Henry embraces all joys and challenges of growing up. Whether he's helping his sister put on a show, setting up a hugglejuice stand or entering his monsterdog Beckett in a pet pageant. Henry is always discovering new ways to be the best brother, friend and monster he can be. 

Of course this DVD was a hit for my children. My son enjoyed it, but my daughter really got into this series. My daughter could sit through this DVD which is  a little over 2 hours longs. That says a lot for a three year old. Her favorite Character out of the DVD would be Henry. This DVD has a lot of songs and my daughter would get into the music and will get into the music and dance. I noticed that my daughter will roar and roar after watching this DVD.

Danny Phantom: The Complete Series Review

 

 Are you a fan of Danny Phantom? This show air on Nickelodeon. When we had cable my son and I used to watch this show on a daily basis. I was excited when I was given the opportunity to review the complete set of Danny Phantom. Danny Phantom: The complete series premiers on DVD January 28th.

 Synopsis: 

And you thought the hassles of everyday high school life were bad! 

Meet Danny Fenton, a good-natured, ordinary 14-year-old kid with extraordinary powers. After an accident involving ‘Ghost Zone’ portal of his two highly eccentric ghost-hunting parents, Danny now has the half-ectoplasmic DNA of a ghost, giving him the ability to fight off the horrible spooks, specters and vengeful ghost hunters threatening our world! But before Danny can defeat anything, he must first learn to control his newfound powers with the help of his best friends, tech-head Tucker and self-proclaimed goth Sam.

 

In this Complete series you will get all three seasons of Danny Phantom! This set will include 10 DVD set feature all 53 original episodes that you may have seen on Nickelodeon. 

 

My overall opinion of Danny Phantom Complete Series. My son and I have been a huge fan of Danny Phantom and since we do not have cable at the moment this is a great opportunity to still be able to enjoy Danny Phantom. This is a great deal if you are also a fan. You can get this complete set for under 30 dollars which is a steal. Majority of the episodes are appropriate for my son and he said it reminds him of comic books that he reads. There are a few scenes that we pass, but it is not a huge deal. I would highly recommend this series for kids 6 and up. My son enjoys this dvd set. He has not finished watching the whole complete series, but he is on his way to finishing it.

It Works Wrap Review

During the holiday season have you put those extra pounds on like I have? I know after the new years my New Years resolution is to find away to lose inches and pounds. Well recently I have been introduced of It Works. You may have heard of It Works before. 

I was given a chance to review a Ultimate Body Applicator by It works. The Ultimate Body Applicator Wrap is supposed to help tighten, tone and firms using a botanically based cream. I was very interested in trying this wrap because I have heard both positive and negative comments about this product. 

When I opened my It Wrap package and took out the application it looked like a large cloth that was covered with cream. If you wanted to use this wrap for different parts of your body you can choose to if you want. Sometimes I have heard of people cut the wrap up and apply the wrap to several parts of the body. Majority of the time people apply the wrap to the stomach area. I unfolded the wrap and applied it to my stomach area. I applied the wrap on smoothly and than wrapped saran wrap around the applied area to make sure the wrap stay in the area it supposed to be. I left my wrap on for roughly 45 minutes. That is the recommended time to leave it on. 

My overall thoughts about this product. It was easy to apply. I personally felt self conscious when I had this wrap on. Although I think it would not bother most people. I am one of those who get anxious when I have to leave stuff on my skin. I will warn you the product is cold when you apply it. After applying this product I lost about a inch. My stomach area did feel more firm that it was before.  I would recommend it. I would also recommend in drinking a lot of water while using this product. It Works Wrap
