Girls Know How

Are you looking for a good book to read over the summer? I know that I push reading for my daughter over the course of summer. I know reading is very  for children and teenagers. The one problem that I have when it comes to book and my children is finding a book that they're interested in.

Girls Know How is a series of books for pre-teen and teenagers to enjoy. This series has four different books that your daughter can read. The book that my daughter choose to read was their Super Science Girls. My daughter choose this book due to liking science. This book helps you explore the exciting world of science.

Here is a little bit about the book:

Sylvia thought this was going to be the perfect summer. She and her best friend Kristen had been dreaming to win the middle school science fair competition for years and couldn’t wait to put their experiment to the test at summer camp together. That is until Indra, the new “It” girl at school, tries to win Kristen’s friendship and undermine their plans.
Sylvia finds herself on the outside looking in as Kristen gets swept up into Indra’s cool world of fashion and friends. She discovers that sometimes things aren’t what they seem, as she learns the rewards of perseverance, the meaning of friendship and that being true to oneself is more important than winning.

I feel like this book is great for younger girls. I feel like these books help empower them. It helps them feel like they can do just about anything. My daughter red this book and she can't wait to buy the rest of the books that they have to offer. She said she could relate to the storyline and it was a great adventure. You can find these books on their website. You can find their website on the link below.

I can Be Whatever I want

Are you looking for a good children book? Than I would recommend checking out the book I can Be Whatever you want. If you are looking for a inspirational book that has good ethics and morals.

Recently my daughter was introduced to a book called I Can Be Whatever I want. When I showed my daughter this book she was excited to take a peek. She loved the cover of the book and she took it in room and couldn't wait to check it out herself.

About the story:

In I Can Be Whatever I Want, Siana explores how to be whatever she wants if she imagines it clearly. She shows you how you can do it, by just feeling how it's going to be! Also, Siana discovers if you tell yourself what you want to be every day, your dreams will come true.

I Can Be Whatever I Want lays the foundation for young children to believe in themselves. It also teaches the simple steps to making your dreams come true. Belief in yourself, visualization, feeling an emotional connection to your dreams, and using positive affirmations to declare what you want to be every day are the clear steps children (as well as adults) can take to make their dreams come true.

What I like about this book it shows motivation, inspiration, believing in yourself, emotional connection and positive affirmations. I like how my daughter read the book and she could connect with them. She said it felt better after reading it and gave her a positive connection. It was a great story and a great meaning behind the book and I would recommend this book to all you children. You fan find this book on amazon.com

I Can Series

I have two kids that are home from school and I'm trying to keep them up to date with their studies. The one important thing that both of my children need to do is read. It starting to become difficult for my daughter because she running out of good books to read. We have been on the hunt for great books for my daughter to read.

Recently we were introduced to a series called I Can Series by Miriam Laundry. She was nice to send my daughter her collections. She sent us The Big Bad Bully, I Can Make A Difference, I Can Be Me,  and I Can Believe in Myself.

The first  book that we took a look at was their book called The Big Bad Bully. This is a bully story with a twist! Follow a young girl who struggles throughout grade school with a bully. Every day she hears her flaws pointed out. Finally, she decides to stand up to her tormentor and discovers…. it is herself! This is not a book about the bully sitting beside you in class, but the bully living in your head. After reading this book. I would have to agree. Even today I would say that I'm my worst enemy and I'm the hardest on myself. I agree with his book and never thought of it this way. It was a great book and taught my daughter a great lesson.
440x550 i can believe
The next book that we took a look at was I Can Believe In Myself. I CAN Believe in Myself Book Description – Molly has been chosen to be the next Star of the Day! Most kids would be excited. Molly, however, is terrified! She just CAN’T speak in front of her class. She worries all day. She frets all night. “I CAN’T… I CAN’T…. I CAN’T,” Molly convinces herself. Or can she? “I CAN Believe in Myself” is a book that challenges children to change the way they think. Other themes in this book include compassion, confidence and self-esteem. “I CAN Believe in Myself” has garnered multiple awards, become a #1 Amazon Best Seller, and set a Guinness World Record™ My daughter loved this book and she could relate to this one. She said it made her feel great and it made her feel more confident.

440x550 I can Make a DifferenceThe next book that we read was their I Can Make A Difference. I CAN Make a Difference Book Description – Alex cannot believe it! He and his classmates are going to be given ten dollars each! Finally, Alex can buy that brand new basketball he’s been wanting! But his fun gets fouled when he discovers that he must spend his gift to make a difference in someone else’s life. To make matters even worse, Alex loses his money! How is he ever going to make a difference now? I CAN Make a Difference is a book that shows children how they can make a difference for others by using their time, talents or treasures.

The last book that we received was their I CAN Be Me Book Description – Maria just wants to be the same as everyone else. But, no! Coming from a different country, she looks different and eats different foods with different names, like “pupusas” (which Alex has fun pronouncing: “Poo-POO-sa”). Embarrassed, Maria withdraws from her friends and struggles to even focus on her big assignment which is due in one week! All she can focus on is how different she is from everyone else. Yet, as the story unfolds, Maria discovers that she and all her classmates ARE the same in one surprising way: they are all uniquely different!

These books were amazing for my litter girl. If you are looking for books that have moral and ethics these books are for you. My daughter felt empowered after she read these books. She personally said she could relate to each book that she read. She couldn't put them down and had to read each on of them. I would highly recommend this series and would make a great investment. You can check out these books on their website.

Piper Fox Co. and The Kind Line are all about teaching kids kindness young and raising them kind. I know challenging this each day in their daily lives will help them in the future.

This helps them become the best version of their selves. When you they spread this around their community and school, they will pass on the positivity to those that are around them. The author of this book hope that his book will teach them just that.

Here is a sneak peak about this book:

At first, Piper thinks her baby brother, Winston, is just making a mess. Then she realizes he’s copying her as she shows kindness to her family and friends. Valentine Shell-B and Friends

I'm always on the look out for new books for my children. As a parent I'm always concerned what my kids are watching on tv and what their reading. Recently my daughter brought home a school book that they were reading and I was appalled. It was a thriller book and they had to read it in class. She was terrified of this book. I will let you know I miss books that teach lessons and have morals and values. With the Valentine series I was impressed. They were everything that I was looking for, but get this the authors are two kids that are brother and sister. When my daughter took a look at them she could relate and she loved them.

The first book of the series is Valentine, Shell-B and Friends. Shell-B Cut Short. This story is about: "Young siblings, Valentine, an eight-year-old boy and Shell-B a seven-year-old girl try to handle age appropriate social issues independently from their parents. They often look to each other for support or the courage within themselves to succeed. In this story, Shell-B struggles with losing her long beautiful hair, and is afraid that she’ll be made fun of for having short hair. Will she be able to find the courage to live with short hair? Or will she hide her hair from the world till it grows back?" My daughter loved this one and she could relate. She had a situation at school and she cut her own hair at home. She didn't want to go to school and hide. She overcame her fear of short hair. I loved how she could connect with the characters. This was an amazing book.

The next book that of the series is Valentine, Shell-B and Friends Valentine Draws the Line. This book is about Valentine, an eight-year old boy who sometimes struggles with his speech, has to find the courage to stand up for himself during a difficult encounter. My daughter also love the second book because she related to this book also. My daughter has a speech problem and she get extra help at school. This book was a comfort for her and she didn't think she was alone. She couldn't wait to bring this book to school and show her teachers.

The next book that we took a look at was Valentine, Shell-B and Friends Stinky Valentine. Valentine rushes through all his daily care needs and doesn't do such a good job showering just so he can finish first. Will he learn from his mistakes?  This book my son relates to. He seems to try to beat getting ready in the morning and he ended up getting sent home due to not smelling the greatest. This book was a good one and I love how my kids can relate to it.

The next book that we took a look at was their Valentine, Shell-B and Friends Bear-Wee's Treated Unfairly. Bear-Wee who has always been so nice to everyone and has never felt bad about how she looks, suddenly has to deal with being teased about her weight. She doesn't know how to deal with it and doesn't think her friend's will understand. Will Bear-Wee be able to get her confidence back and trust her friends will be there for her?

The last book that we took a look at was their Valentine, Shell-B and Friends. Rock-E finds himself acting unusually silly around his crush, trying to find different ways to get her attention. Will his crush feel the same way about him? This one is also was a great one that my daughter related to.

Overall my family loved this serious. They thought it was cool that kids their age wrote these books. They could relate to the serious and it had lessons to learn in the book.  I would check them out on amazon to find all five books.

One Smile and One Voice Kids Books

It been a tough couple weeks where kids are still at home. We have been working on pamphlets that the school has sent home over the weeks. Math, moral compass, social studies and science are covered. Although we forgot about English and reading. We have books at home, but my daughter has read majority of her books. At this time we can't go to our local book store to pick out a book.

Recently I was introduced to an author that is also a teacher. She has written two children books called One Voice and One Smile. If you are looking for a book that has kindness incorporated in the story. Then these books will be a good fit for your family.

The one thing that I love about my children school is Moral Focus. Each month they will focus on one thing. For example kindness. Since we can't have moral focus at school we can incorporate it at home. I will use both books for that purpose.

The first book that we took a look at is One Smile. This book is very powerful and bring a positive message. My daughter absolutely loved it. I had her read to be several times. My daughter would remind me daily that the small of acts of kindness can impact others lives. She has been trying to do that daily now. She said she wants to do more of that when the quarantine is over. After reading the book we talked about it and she related to it. She told me that we could give warm smiles to worker at the grocery stores and thank them for being at work.

The next book that we took a look at was One Voice. This book was amazing. My daughter was amazed of the storyline and the acts of kindness. One of my daughters favorite parts of the story is when the mailman brought the mail to the lady. My daughter liked how the mailman thought about how hard it was for her to get around and he brought the mail to her. My daughter had a smile to her face when we were reading the book. She also liked how the mailman picked a flower and brought it to the girl in the book. Acts of kindness go a long way. My daughter told me that everyone has a voice. She has these books next to her bed and she reads them at night.

I would definitely recommend these books. It always hard to find books that have morals and ethics. This is just what our world needs more of. You can find these books on amazon.com

Four Bears In A Box

Right now it's super important to promote reading with children right now. Currently during this situation children are at home and they have a lot of time to be able to read.

We were able to receive a book called Four Bears in A Box for review. What I found really interesting was the Author Dreama Denver was the wife of late TV icon and Gilligan's Island star Bob Denver shares for the first time an original story inspired by Bob and their son Colin, who suffers from autism. With their shared theatre backgrounds, Bob and Dreama would read stories to him every evening, using their acting backgrounds to reach through to Colin and bring the book's characters to life. Now, Dreama's Four Bears In A Box gives you the chance to touch the lives of the little ones in your life and take them on a magical journey of imagination and pure joy.

When I learned that their son had autism it touched me dearly. I work with children that have autism so I could relate to what they said. I was more eager to read this book with my daughter. When we read this book it was amazing. We enjoyed the adventure and the rhyming in the book. I like how the bears were bored at first and then they go on adventure. While going through the pages they were illustrated beautifully and action packed. I will have to say that my daughter and I both got lost in the book. We used our imagination during the story and we went into a nice relaxing place.

This is a great book to have. It's fun and you'll have a lot of fun reading it with your children. This book is exactly what you need during this quarantine. You can find this book on amazon.com.
