If you are looking for a fun experiment at home than this Tin Can Robot will be perfect for you. What I like about this kit will teach your kids about recycling and how to build a robot out of a soda can.  This Tin Can Robot will set you up to build your own robot at home. 

This is a 4M Tin Robot that will teach your kids the value of recycling by repurposing a used can into a fun functional robot. When I learned about that I will admit I was skeptical at first. What is nice about this kit is that you need no prior knowledge about robots or how to build. There are no special tools that you need for this kit. Which could be overwhelming for kiddos. This kit does contain detailed instructions and all the necessary parts that will be needed. That is one of the major pluses of this kit. I tend to get frustrated when a kit doesn't have everything you need and you have to make special trips to the store. 

All you need is a soda pop can which I always have one on hand in my home. Then this where the fun begins. You can use this kit to create a silly robot or a motorized monster or a combinations of both. This robot requires one AA batteries this is not included. This kit is recommended for ages 8 years and up.

I know I have been on the look out for amazing STEM toys that your children  play with at home. What if I told you that I found a amazing company that offer a STEM toy that is unique fun and hasn't been done yet? Lux Blox is is a block that curve, bend, and move without limits. Michael and Heather Acerra made a block system that you can build almost anything that your imagination can come up with. 

The main kit that we took a look at was their Steam Primer Kit. This kit contains 111 pieces including : 75 squares consisting of red, yellow, and royal blue, 20 white trigons, 5 trigon wheels, 4 square wheels, 5 lux axles, and 2 7 inch rubber bands. This set is intended to construct on piece at a time. This set is right up my son ally. He loves building and constructing things. He always fidgeting. I remember when he was four he tried to build a robot. He is definitely my engineer in the family. If your child like engineering then this the Steam Primer Kit is for you. This is a STEM toy it has the arts of science, technology, engineering, art and math all in this toy. When my son started messing around building with this set he wondered how the pieces would go together. He said they went together quite easily and he did't have to struggle putting the pieces together. That he said it was easy and he said building with the pieces were quite easy and he enjoyed building with this. He looked at the website and he wanted to build the vehicle that was shown in the picture and he came quite close he was determined. He spent hours putting the pieces together and having fun. 

The next set that we took a look at was their Fidget Flexers. I know that both of my children suffer from anxiety. They usually need something to fidget with to calm down their anxiety and what better than Fidget Flexers. This is a unique idea where your children can build their own fidget toy. This kit is recommend for kids age 6 and up. This kit contains 30 pieces. This kit is easy to put together and comes with yellow and purples. There are similar kits that you can choose from. This is a great toy that you can build that will help you fidget. You can potentially add more pieces to this creation. 

What I like about Lux Blox is that there is a variety of different products available to choose from. I do believe that they can be compatible to build a bigger project if you choose to. I also like how they're easy to put together and it teaches them how to be engineers. I would recommend checking their website out for more information.

Griddly Games

While stuck at home with two kids for over a month. Things can kind of getting boring for them while being stuck at home. That is where I try to find fun and interactive things for them to do while at home. As a parent right now we're doing homeschool at home, but I also put STEM activities in their learning so they can do hand on activities. Just doing book work that the teachers send home can be kind of boring. 

Griddly Games sent us two activities for the kids to do at home. The first activity is their Just Add Milk Science Kit. This whole kit retails for 17.00 on their website. This kit introduces a natural scientific reactions in a fun colorful way. This kit is recommend for kids that are over the ages of 5. They can make their own rock candy with the molds, sugar cute and even make handmade soaps. Make sure you snatch this kit when you can for your kiddos so they can create their own rock candy. 

This is a perfect time to pick up a couple of these kits for your kiddos. Not only are they educational they're a lot of fun. I know I put them in our lesson plans when they are at home. What comes in this set you may ask? It comes with Classic Inventor Planks and Connectors. With planks and connectors this can allow kids to build windmills, animals, dragons and even dinosaurs. This set also has Gears and Sprockets and this helps promote kids to experiment and learn about scientific method. You will also find Pulleys in this kit. This will help bring the engineer out in your child. This will help promote mechanical advantage and simple machine. Last but not least you will find drivers in this kit. You will find wheels and axels in this set. You will learn about motion and how fast you can get your creation to go.

This set would be great during quarantine at this time. STEM activities are the best when your kiddos are at home. It will promote hours of curiosity with project based activities while boosting skills in Science, Technology, Art, Engineering and Math.
